Former traffic police constable Saurabh Sharma is being investigated for the alleged acquisition of assets worth more than three crores, which was exposed during a raid by the Lokayukta in Bhopal.

Bhopal unit of Lokayukta’s Special Police Establishment (SPE) on Thursday raided the house of former Road Transport Constable Saurabh Sharma in upscale Erera Colony and unearthed assets worth crores. The raid was conducted during the investigation into the case of unverified assets.
According to officials, Rs 2.5 crore cash, gold and silver jewelery and documents related to various movable and immovable assets were recovered from Sharma’s residence. The estimated total value of these assets may be more than Rs 3 crore. Additional Director General (ADG) Lokayukta Jaideep Prasad confirmed that Sharma was searched at two locations.
The operation started at 7 am, two teams were deployed to search simultaneously. The authorities searched Sharma’s home as well as the house of his alleged accomplice Chandan Singh Gaur and a hotel owned by Sharma.
The raid was conducted on the basis of a complaint filed against Sharma. After serving for 12 years, he took Voluntary Retirement (VRS) from the Transport Department a year ago and is now active in the real estate sector. However, the officials allege that he was involved in real estate business despite being in government service.
Lokayukta’s investigation has revealed that Sharma has properties in many districts including Bhopal. Investigators have uncovered links to his investments in hotels and schools, indicating significant financial activity. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are expected to uncover more details.
