MP MK Raghavan has demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for insulting Dr BR Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution, in Parliament. Speaking to the media here on Monday (December 23), he also asked Shah to retract and apologize for his alleged defamatory remarks about Ambedkar.
βThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has revealed that it will change the Preamble of the Constitution if it gets an absolute majority. Since that is not possible now, its leaders are insulting the Constitution and the founder,’ Mr. Raghavan accused the party of disrespecting not only the Constitution but also the Dalits.
Citing the BJP’s reluctance to conduct a caste census, Mr. Raghavan said it revealed the party’s anti-reservation stance and exposed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s claims of upliftment of the marginalized as completely hollow.
Mr. Raghavan highlighted that the BJP was trying to frame Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi in a ‘fake case’ and demanded their immediate removal.
