“I want to tell you all that I am fine,” he said in a weak voice after Abhimanyu Kohr, another farmer leader, helped him.
“We have to win this battle. This battle can be won only if the entire country fights together,” Mr. Dallewal said.
“I don’t want the government to evict us under any circumstances. Failing that, either we win or we die, one of two things will happen,” said the 70-year-old. He said in a speech lasting more than two minutes.
Mr. Kohr later said that Mr. Dallewal’s saying that he was fine meant that although he was physically weak, his morale was high.
Doctors involved in Dallewal’s treatment have said that his condition is alarming.
Farmers under the banner of United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border crossings between Punjab and Haryana since February 13 after security forces stopped their journey towards Delhi.
Mr. Dallewal is on fast since 26th of November.
