The benefits of meditation—from improving focus and productivity to grounding yourself and decluttering the mind—have been touted far and wide by experts and wellness enthusiasts. In this World Meditation Dayindianexpress.com decided to take a deep dive into the science of sound healing to find out which frequency – 432 Hz or 417 Hz – provides the most calming experience for meditation.
“Our body is a bundle of vibrations or sound waves – a fact scientifically proven by Albert Einstein in the 19th century. Everything in the universe, including us, is derived from one universal vibration, ‘Ohm’, which resonates at frequencies above 700 Hz. In our higher state, We are aligned with this universal vibration of unity and joy,” said Rashu Sachdeva, Three-Dimensional Leadership Coach and Sound Healer.
However, Sachdeva shared that situations in life often disrupt our natural vibrations, causing us to experience emotions such as guilt, grief and fear, which resonate at frequencies below 50 Hz. Listening to high frequencies can rewire the brain, gradually stimulating the emotions associated with it. High vibrations such as love, joy and peace – usually above 400 Hz.
“Our reality is determined by our major vibration and can be shifted or recalibrated through the principle of resonance,” he said. Listening to music and sounds that carry a particular frequency will begin to tune your internal vibration up or down. Music can cause sorrow or joy, it can heal or hurt, he said.
According to Sachdeva, “acceptance” starts at a frequency of 400 Hz – specifically 417 Hz removes any negative emotions we have and 432 Hz creates a calming and relaxing effect. However, when asked which one works best, he said that the effect varies from person to person, depending on his or her current situation.
Tips for using treatment frequencies
Sachdeva emphasized the importance of sourcing music from reliable sources to ensure the effectiveness of healing music. “Consciously use these frequencies to develop an awareness of how they affect your emotions and vibrations,” he said.
He also warned against listening to such frequencies while engaging in activities such as driving, walking or running. “External vibrations can be distracting or overstimulating, so it’s best to reserve them for meditation or relaxation sessions,” Sachdeva said.
By tuning into the right frequencies, you can elevate your inner vibrations and create a more balanced, serene reality for yourself.
