Anantapur: The Madaksira District Court on Friday sentenced a man to two years in prison on charges of electrocution while fencing a pomegranate orchard in Madaksira Mandal of Satyasai District.
According to sources, Prasad farmer B Hanumantha of Budhapalem village of Madaksira mandal came in contact with the electric wire when he was near the garden of Rayappa. Electricity was supplied to the wire without any preventive measure.
In December 2020, Prasad died on the spot and the Madaksira police registered a case based on the complaint of the deceased’s family members.
On Friday, the Magistrate Court delivered its verdict, sentencing orchard owner Hanumanth Rayappa to two years in jail for being responsible for the death of an innocent man.
