A 17-year-old youth was brutally stabbed to death in the second killing of a minor in the same day in a dispute with a rival group that started during the Ganesh festival, police said. Three juveniles, all 17 years old, are in custody.
The incident took place on Tuesday night at around 11:15 pm in Wadgaon Budruk area of ​​Sinhagad Road. The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Shripat Anant Banker, a resident of Wadgaon Budruk, police said. “Preliminary investigation revealed that there was an altercation between the deceased and the three accused during the Ganesh festival earlier this year. On Tuesday morning, the accused accused the deceased on a motorcycle. They repeatedly hit him with knives and also hit him with stones. They left him bleeding and left him on the ground. Some people took Banker to the hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said an official from Sinhgad Road police station. The accused will be taken into custody and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
The incident took place hours after a 17-year-old college student was beaten to death by two assailants while on his way to college in Ramtekdi area of ​​Pune on Tuesday morning. The police said that the attack was due to a past dispute between the deceased and one of the attackers.
