Kolkata: The West Bengal University of Health Sciences According to an official statement on Thursday, it has been announced that the MBBS examinations in various medical colleges across the state will now be conducted under CCTV surveillance. As per the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) developed by the university following the directives of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as Health Minister, the MBBS examination in state-run medical colleges will be monitored not only through CCTV. The answer sheet will have a barcode without name and during the examination the student will have to stick to the odd-odd roll number pattern to avoid duplication.
“The CCTV footage of the entire duration of the examination for each day will have to be sent to the university in a separate folder. The footage will be stored for at least one year,” the official said.

The West Bengal Chief Minister assured the agitating junior doctors to look into their demands and prepare SOPs so that strict action can be taken to prevent any malpractices in MBBS examinations.
