It’s no secret that filmmaker Atlee shares a very special relationship with actor-politician Vijay. They have worked in three films – Theri, Mersal and Bigil – and each of them was a bona fide blockbuster that boosted Vjiay’s stardom and Atlee’s directorial credentials. In fact, it was in Mersal that Vijay adopted the tag of ‘Thalapathi’ which continues to be his nickname among fans and political supporters. Atlee, who recently directed Jawan and is supporting Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film, Baby JohnOne can never fail to mention Vijay’s contribution to his career.
Interestingly, Atlee and his wife Priya Atlee’s first Hindi production is a remake of Vijay’s Theri, which marked the actor-filmmaker’s first collaboration. In a very rare social media post from his account as an actor, Vijay shared the poster of Baby John, and wished the team blockbuster success.
