VCK, CPI and Congress protested against Amit Shah for his comments about Ambedkar

Viduthlai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Communist Party of India (CPI) and Congress workers staged separate protests at different places in Tiruchi on Friday condemning Home Minister Amit Shah for BR Ambedkar’s remarks.

An attempt by a group of VCK members to stage a “rail roko” at Tiruchi railway junction and Manaparai station was foiled by the police.

A group of VCK workers carrying party flags gathered near Tiruchi railway junction shouting slogans and marched towards the station. The protestors have been detained by the police.

A group of VCK members were arrested when they tried to “stop the train” near Manaparai station. VCK members protested in Musiri, Kallakudi and Thuraiyur in Tiruchi district.

In Tiruchi city, a group of CPI workers demonstrated at Woraiyur demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for his comments about Ambedkar.

A section of Congress members, the party’s former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president Su. Thirunavukkarasar staged a protest near Tiruchi Railway Junction condemning Mr. Amit Shah and demanding his resignation. They slammed the BJP government for registering a case against their party MP and former president Rahul Gandhi in connection with the clashes in Parliament on Thursday.
