New Relic, a global leader in the intelligent observability platform space, has deepened its engagement with Hyderabad by opening a 500-seat office, corporate partnership with T-Hub and evaluating startups to strike synergies.

The new Hyderabad innovation center is a key component of the San Francisco-headquartered firm’s expansion and puts India at par with its US and European innovation hubs, CEO Ashan Wiley said in an interaction recently.

The firm has a global headcount of 2,500. Of these, 700 are in India, including 500 from Hyderabad. New Relic recently opened a 300-seat office in Bengaluru. The number of workers in India has increased from around 100 in March, he said.

Apart from the technological talent it offers, India is an important market, with some of the most advanced digitally native businesses in the country, he said. Besides business from Indian companies and potentially the government, software exports and demand for solutions like New Relic to remove digital barriers and provide real-time insights make the country an attractive market.

New Relic gets about half of its global revenue, which he says is in the billions range, from North America, with the rest split between Asia and Europe. The Hyderabad facility puts India on par with the company’s US and European innovation centers, enabling it to tap local talent and create products for customers in India and around the world, he said. The company will fill all 540 seats in the new facility.

In partnership with startup incubator T-Hub, he said New Relic is the first Observer vendor to sign a corporate partnership with the incubator. The partnership will see the firm provide support to the local startup ecosystem through dedicated events, community mentorship opportunities and discounted rates for its intelligent observation platform.
