TN government has not fully implemented the comprehensive education scheme, says Annamalai

BJP Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai on Sunday alleged that the Tamil Nadu government has not fully implemented the provisions of the Comprehensive Education Scheme, despite agreeing to do so.

He posted on social media that the DMK government had received ₹ 5,858.32 crore in the last three years under the scheme. He alleged that the state had written to the Center agreeing to implement all the provisions under the scheme but failed to do so.

Citing media reports, Mr. Annamalai said the school education department has not paid the outstanding bill of about Rs 1.5 crore to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for providing internet connectivity to government schools. As a result, many government schools in the state were likely to lose internet connectivity.

“DMK has been spreading lies ever since it came to power. How can people believe? The DMK government, which borrows Rs 1 lakh crore annually, is unable to pay the outstanding amount of Rs 1.5 crore to BSNL? … he asked.
