Thiruvannamalai forest guards recognized for acts of bravery

The commendation came at a monthly review meeting held at the office of the Principal Chief Conservator, Guindy, where Chief of Forest Force Srinivasa R Reddy presented a letter of appreciation to Rajesh for his gallantry.

A forest guard from Thiruvannamalai was honored on Thursday for his bravery in rescuing a woman from Andhra Pradesh who was stranded in the Arunachal Hills during the Mahadeepam festival.

The incident took place after a woman who climbed the mountain illegally got stuck for two days without being able to descend. In a remarkable act of courage, Forest Guard A. Rajesh climbed the hill, carrying the woman on his back to safety.
