Telangana government will release new job notification from January

Hyderabad: Following the delay caused by the Scheduled Caste (SC) sub-categorization case following the Supreme Court verdict on August 1, the state government is gearing up to release new job notifications from next month.

District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment exam notification will be issued for the first time with the aim of filling 6000 teacher posts in government schools. Earlier this year, the government successfully completed the recruitment of over 10,000 teachers through the Mega DSC notification issued in February.

After the DSC recruitment, the state government will proceed to issue other job notifications as per the annual job calendar, and ensure that the recruitment processes are completed by June.

The government has constituted a judicial commission to study all the effects of the implementation of the Supreme Court order. The committee is expected to submit its report by the end of the month.

Sub-categorization is likely to change SC reservations in upcoming job notifications. Due to lack of clarity on this matter, the state government has not been able to proceed with the recruitment process.

After the Supreme Court verdict, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy constituted a cabinet sub-committee under the chairmanship of minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy to study the decision and recommend measures to implement it.

After two months of examination, the committee proposed the formation of a judicial commission. On October 9, Revanth Reddy issued an order to constitute a one-member judicial commission, setting a deadline of 60 days to submit a report and recommendations.

The state government on October 12 appointed Shamim Akhtar, a retired judge of the Telangana High Court, as the head of the commission. Justice Akhtar assumed charge and started work on November 11.

At the Global Madiga Day program held on Saturday, the Chief Minister announced that the Commission would submit its report next week. Official sources said that the report will be finalized by the end of the month.

The Congress government had earlier promised to release an ‘annual employment calendar’ during the assembly elections. Sticking to its promise, it has released a calendar in the legislature on August 2.

The calendar outlines 20 job notifications to be released from September 2024 to June 2025, including Group-1, Group-2 and Group-3, Health Department, Police Recruitment, Teacher Eligibility Test and teaching posts in government colleges and universities. But the notifications were put on hold due to the government’s decision to deal with the highest sub-classification issue first.

According to official sources, after reviewing the report of the Judicial Commission and deciding to implement the sub-categorization of Scheduled Castes, the government plans to issue the first notification in January.
