Hyderabad: The state government has said it will spend Rs 12,000 crore to lay 11,000 km of roads in rural areas. Of the state’s 12,941 gram panchayats, 334 are unconnected with proper roads and the government has said BT roads will be laid in gram panchayats, residential colonies and slums.
In a written reply, the government has informed that there are 1,831 primary schools and 1,913 non-enrolment schools in 49 secondary schools in the state. Denying any plan for their closure, it is urging mandal education authorities to attract students. Mentioning that there will be no merger, 612 students have been enrolled in 79 government schools for the academic year 2024-25. Addressing the media persons outside the assembly, BRS leader Savita Reddy expressed her anger at not being able to raise the question in the House and said that the government is afraid that the government will discuss the issue as there are only 10 students in around 4,000 schools.
