Telangana CM Revanth Reddy lays foundation stone for development works, attends Medak Church centenary celebrations

Telangana Chief Minister A Revantha Reddy visited the Edupayala Vanadurga Bhavani temple at Nagasanpalli in Papannapet mandal of Medak district and laid the foundation stone of several development works. The initiatives, with a total budget of β‚Ή 192 crore, are aimed at boosting infrastructure and welfare in the region.

Major development projects include construction of roads connecting various tribal villages of Medak constituency at a cost of β‚Ή 52.76 crore. Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for Young India Integrated Residential School Complex and Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavan, which is to be constructed with an allocation of β‚Ή 5 crore. Self-Help Group (SHG) women in Medak district will be given bank linkage checks worth β‚Ή 100 crore. 35 crores will be required for infrastructure improvements including road expansion, construction of dividers, installation of high mast lights etc. in Edupayla.

Celebrations at Medak Cathedral

Later, the Chief Minister also participated in the centenary celebrations of the historic Medak Cathedral. It is the second largest cathedral in Asia, standing as a symbol of unity and resilience. During his visit, Mr. Reddy laid the foundation stone of additional development work worth β‚Ή 29 crore at Medak Church and participated in Christmas celebrations, offering special prayers.

Addressing the gathering, he said, ‘It is a pleasure to celebrate the centenary of Medak Church with grandeur. Our government has allocated necessary funds for its development. This cathedral is not only a religious place but also a testament to the historical spirit of Medak. Highlighting his government’s commitment to the welfare of marginalized communities, he said, β€œThe Congress government is the government of the poor. Inspired by the legacy of Christian missionaries in education and medicine, we have introduced Fee Reimbursement and Rajeev Arogyashri.”

TPCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers Konda Surekha, Damodar Raja Narasimha, Panguleti Srinivasa Reddy, MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao, and several MLAs were present on the occasion.
