Hyderabad: IT and Industry Minister Dudilla Sridhar Babu welcomed a 20-member Malaysian business delegation to Hyderabad on Monday, aiming to increase cooperation for the establishment of solar power plants, construction of dry ports, development of sewage treatment facilities and marketing of products produced from 64. Millions of women self-employed groups from Telangana in foreign markets.
During Sridhar Babu’s recent visit to Malaysia, the delegation met the minister at the secretariat. The meeting was organized by the Malaysian Telangana Association. The minister asked Malaysian businessmen to get involved in the sewage treatment and dredging of Husensagar Lake. Further, Sridhar Babu proposed to develop tourist centers with resorts in the backwaters of Srisailam and Kinnerasani and requested the delegation to organize exhibitions showcasing Telangana products in Malaysia. He appreciated Malaysian Telangana Association president S Tirupathi, general secretary Sandeep Goud and advisor Amarnath Goud for facilitating the visit.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao asked the Malaysian team to provide palm oil seeds for cultivation in local nurseries.
Meanwhile, Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajendra announced that Minister Sridhar Babu has committed to provide all necessary land from the Revenue Department, TGIIC and Forest Department to complete additional works around the newly constructed Cherlapally Railway Terminal.
In a statement, Rajendra mentioned that he met NVSS Prabhakar, Beti Subas Reddy, Taduri Srinivas, and railway officials Sridhar Babu at the minister’s quarters to discuss the need for improved road connectivity to the railway station. GHMC Commissioner Ilambarti assured that basic facilities, roads and lights will be upgraded on Rampur road.
Bareilly court notice to Owaisi for raising pro-Palestine slogans
Hyderabad: A Bareilly court has served a notice to AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for raising pro-Palestinian slogans in the Lok Sabha, citing constitutional and legal violations.
After a plea by local resident Birendra Gupta, the court accepted the case and ordered Owaisi to appear on January 7. Also, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi received a notice to appear on the same day in a separate case.
On June 25, 2024, during his oath-taking in the 18th Lok Sabha, Owaisi raised slogans such as “Jai Palestine,” “Jai Bheem,” “Jai Meem,” and “Jai Telangana”, questioning the legality of banning such expressions.
V&E raids HCA, seizes records to scrutinize tenders
Hyderabad: Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) officials raided the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on Monday, seizing all records to investigate allegations of fraudulent tender awards. The allegations surfaced after some HCA members reported irregularities in transport and catering contracts for international cricket matches at the Uppal Stadium. Procedural flaws were identified in the tender process.
Sources revealed that HCA CEO Sunil Kante and Chairman Jagan Mohan Rao initially refused to provide the records due to the unavailability of their secretary R Devaraj. Additionally, some HCA members have filed a complaint in the Telangana High Court, the case is scheduled to be heard on December 26.
Need more co-working spaces: Sridhar Babu
Hyderabad: With the city fast emerging as a startup hub, IT and Industries Minister Dudilla Sridhar Babu urged companies to set up plug-and-play co-working spaces to support growing businesses.
On Monday, Sridhar Babu inaugurated a 400-seat co-working center at MP Grand Complex in Ameerpet. Developed by entrepreneur Girish Malpani under the brand “Well Work”, the facility is the second of its kind following a similar center in Gachiboli, Hyderabad.
With an investment of Rs 6 crore, this plug-and-play center aims to help startups reduce operational costs and launch ventures with low initial investment. The minister emphasized that expanding such facilities across the city would not only help startups but also help reduce traffic jams.
“Establishing these centers in different parts of Hyderabad will promote the growth of entrepreneurship and contribute to a more orderly urban environment,” he said.
