Signature campaign to establish government colleges in permanent buildings in Andhra Pradesh

Several civil society groups, led by the Lecturers’ Association Pattana Powra Samkshema Sangham, staged a protest in Vizianagaram, asking the Andhra Pradesh government to construct or allot a permanent building for the government college which is currently functioning in the premises of the intermediate college.

It also emphasized the establishment of both Law and B.Ed. The colleges of the district were closed by the Manassas Trust a few years ago. Pattana Powra Samaj Sangham President Reddy Shankar Rao said that the currently vacant road and building bungalow can be allotted for that college.

Speaking to the media in Vizianagaram, he said the government should abandon plans to sell bungalows that could have enough space for degrees, B.Ed. and law colleges. State Vice President of Lecturers’ Association Jayapal, Students’ Federation of India Venkatesh, Situ Secretary US. Ravikumar and others assisted. They asked the government to allot 20 acres of land near Shilparamam if they could not allot R&B bungalows for those colleges.
