Samsung starts rolling out One UI 7 Beta with new AI features and redesigned UI: Here’s a quick look | Technology News

Samsung recently announced that it is now rolling out One UI 7 to supported devices. Based on Android 15, the update brings several new AI features along with a redesigned user interface. The South Korean tech giant says One UI 7 “incorporates leading AI agents and multimodal capabilities at every touch point of the interface.” Here’s a quick look at some One UI 7 features.

New AI features

Like Apple Intelligence’s writing tool, One UI 7 now lets users harness the power of generative AI models to summarize, spell and grammar check, and format content into bullet points. These writing tools can be used without leaving the current app and are available in all text fields.

Samsung also unveiled a new feature that lets you automatically generate transcripts of calls in 20 languages, eliminating the hassle of manually taking notes.

again Designed user interface

One UI 7 brings many changes to the user interface. On the lock screen, you’ll see a ‘Now Bar’, which provides instant access to important information and a bunch of AI features like translator and music. The company says the functionality “reduces the need to constantly unlock the device.”

This support will be available on upcoming Galaxy S series devices, but there is no word if the feature is coming to existing devices. The company has also made some changes to the home screen and widgets.

Another big change is that camera settings such as buttons, controls and modes have now been reorganized to “make it easier to find the features you need”, giving users a clearer preview of the viewfinder. In Pro and Pro Video modes, the manual settings layout is now simplified, so you can easily focus on the subject or control the zoom.

A UI 7 availability

Samsung has confirmed that One UI 7 will launch alongside the Galaxy S25 series of devices, with a rollout for older devices from “first quarter of 2025”. The One UI 7 beta program is initially limited to Galaxy S24 series owners in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the US and will be available in more regions in the future.
