Samsung Galaxy S25 series to be unveiled on January 22: report

Samsung is holding an Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, where Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 series of smartphones.

According to a report by ET News, the Galaxy S25 series will be launched at an event in San Jose, California. Previously, San Francisco was rumored to be the venue for the Unpack event.

Samsung focuses on implementing A performance without making major changes to the design of the smartphone.

Chipset: All the three Samsung Galaxy S25 series smartphones will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Earlier, Samsung planned to go with its Exynos 2500 for the S25 and S25 Plus models, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset for the S25 Ultra but due to production issues, they went with the Snapdragon chipset for all models.

display: The Galaxy S25 is set to sport a 6.16-inch display, compared to 6.6-inches for the S25 Plus model and 6.86-inches for the Ultra model.

design: Samsung may adopt the rounded corner design for the Ultra, which was previously present on the S Gen and Plus models.

camera: There are only a few changes to the camera performance. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have its pixels increased from 12MP to 50MP. The rear camera comes with a 200MP lens, an ultra-wide-angle 50MP lens, a telephoto 3x zoom 10MP lens, and a telephoto 5x zoom 50MP lens.

The Samsung S25 and S25 Plus will come with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. All three models have a 12MP front camera.

Battery: The charging speed and battery capacity are expected to be the same as the previous model. The S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra will have 400o mAh, 4900 mAh and 5000 mAh battery capacity respectively.

RAM: The base RAM of the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra starts at 12GB. S25 Ultra RAM capacity increases to 16GB.

Storage: Samsung may drop the 128GB storage option and start with a 256GB option.
