Karimnagar: A horrifying incident has taken place in Mandal Headquarter located in Birpur Mandal of Jagatial District where robbers entered from the courtyard of the house and injured the husband and wife and robbed them of cash along with gold and silver jewellery.
According to the police, Kasam Ishwariah was running a general store from his house in Birpur Mandal and was living with his second wife Bhagya Lakshmi. Ishwariya’s two children from his first marriage live in Hyderabad.
In the early hours, when Ishwariah went out to attend to personal needs, four unidentified masked men entered the backyard. They beat Eshwariah, tied him with a rope, dragged him from the bathroom and took him inside the house.
The assailants threatened to kill Ishwariya and Bhagyalakshmi before stealing 10,000 cash along with 10 tola gold and 10 tola silver jewellery. Before fleeing, they had warned the couple not to inform the police, saying that they intended to distribute the loot to the poor.
Ishwariya lodged a complaint with the police, who registered a case and started an investigation.
