Bhopal: A video of right-wing activists forcing a food delivery agent to remove his Santa Claus costume in Indore on Thursday went viral on social media, prompting the police to launch an investigation into it.
In the video, a person off-camera is heard questioning the agent why he is dressed as Santa Claus even though he is a Hindu and wears Lord Rama’s costume when distributing food during Hindu festivals like Diwali.
The agent, who identified himself as Arjun, was heard in the video saying that he was only following his company’s policy announced on the occasion of Christmas and that he could lose his job if he did not follow it.
The right-wing activist who confronted the food distribution agent was said to be Sumit Hardiya, coordinator of the Indore district unit of the Hindu Jagran Manch.
The video shows the delivery agent removing Santa’s outfit after exchanging words.
According to right-wing activists, the incident took place in Bhanwarkuan area of ββIndore city on Wednesday.

Indore Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Devendra Singh Dhruve said that the police have not received any complaint in this regard so far.
The police have started investigating the incident.
