Member of Legislative Council Shashil G Namoshi has said that there were irregularities in the examination held on November 16 and 17 for 97 Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) posts in Kalyan Karnataka region.

Addressing the journalists here on Sunday, Namoshi mentioned another incident in which 12 examinees were arrested in Yadgir district on charges of irregularities in the PDO examination in the examination center of Sindhanur Government College.

He said that Sindhanur examination center did not have proper security arrangements as 840 examinees took the exam in one center with 35 examination halls.

In each exam hall, 50% of the examinees did not receive their question papers for the first 25-30 minutes, he said. Although the question papers they received were unsealed, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in his reply to the winter session denied any paper leak or delay in the start of the examination.

Mr. Namoshi said that the candidates who appeared for the PDO examination in Kalburgi also objected to the delay in the distribution of question papers, but the officials filed complaints against the candidates to cover up their (official) mistakes.

Namoshi demanded the state government to re-conduct the examination and immediately withdraw the cases filed against the candidates protesting the delay in the distribution of question papers.
