Mumbai Police Arrests Man For Flashing Women In Shared Taxi Mumbai News

Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested a 27-year-old man from Sion for allegedly chasing and throwing a woman inside a shared taxi in south Mumbai.

According to a police officer, the incident took place on the afternoon of November 30, but a complaint was lodged with the police only on Wednesday after the victim’s friend shared her experience on social media.

“Through the post, we reached the victim, who told us that she took a shared taxi to the railway station. The accused, who was sitting next to her, then performed a lewd act,” an officer said. The police did not raise an alarm at the scene because they were afraid of the accused, but later went home and disclosed the ordeal to her friend.

Police believe that the accused was following the woman before getting into the same cab as her.

β€œAfter the case was registered, our team started searching for the suspect. We traced his brother, who was brought to the police station,” said an officer. “Through him, we learned that accused Dindayal Motiram Singh is originally from Uttar Pradesh and resides in Sion Koliwada area.”

A team was then sent to his residence and Singh was arrested on Sunday morning.
