Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stands at 441, which falls under the ‘severe’ category, according to the central government’s Sameer app. Meanwhile, the temperature in the city has also dropped to 5 degrees Celsius, while in some areas the mercury has dropped below 4 degrees.
AQI was recorded at 458 at ITO, 471 at Alipore, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium 443, DTU 432, IGI Airport (T3) 418, RK Puram 464, DU North Campus 436, at 7 am on Wednesday i.e. December 18.
Besides, Chandni Chowk recorded an AQI of 374, Lodhi Road 348, Dilshad Garden 344 and NSIT Dwarka 367.
GRAP-IV measures were re-administered
In view of deteriorating air quality, GRAP Phase IV measures were re-imposed from December 16 across the entire NCR. The decision was taken after Delhi’s AQI crossed the 400-mark.
Notably, an AQI of 399 was reported at 9 pm on Monday, December 16. It crossed the 400 mark around 10 pm.
