AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal said in Belagavi on Tuesday (December 17, 2024), One Nation One Election is BJP’s attempt to build a nation without elections.
βIt is clear that One Nation One Election is an attempt to change the country without elections. This is the main agenda of BJP. They do not believe in the democratic process of elections. They are bringing such a concept to destroy the values ββof democracy. Every state, be it Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur or Jammu and Kashmir. We should celebrate this diversity. Unity in diversity is the strength of this country. But BJP neither believes in democracy nor diversity. One Nation One Election can never be implemented in India. However, we know that the BJP can get it approved in Parliament.”
He said that in the meeting of the Congress Working Committee to be held in Belagavi, various contemporary issues will be discussed, especially the current political situation in the country. A meeting has been held at Belagavi on the 26th in memory of Mahatma Gandhi in 1924 under the chairmanship of the plenary session of the Indian National Congress.
The main issue is the BJP imposing its ideology through legal means. The basic ideology of the Congress party will also be discussed, he said.
He said that the party planned to organize centenary celebrations of Belgaum Congress session not only in Belagavi but also across the state and country. “The details will be out in the CWC meeting,” he said. He said that the central working committee meeting is expected to give a new direction to the politics of the country and the political movement of the Congress.
Earlier, he held a meeting with senior members to review the Central Committee meeting and the preparations for the rally. Senior leaders like Ajay Maken, Randeep Singh Surjewala, CM Siddaramaiah, DCM DK Shivakumar, Ministers HK Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, Lakshmi Hebbalkar were present.
“Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy as Congress President brings pride to the heart of every Congressman. He advocated non-violence. He encouraged the party members to fight against the British through non-violence and to bring freedom to the country through love and equality. All these are collapsing under the BJP government. Now there is no semblance of equality in the country. “The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Only one person’s interest is given priority,” he said in the meeting.
: The Union Government has put all public institutions up for sale. All the public wealth of the country is going into the hands of one person. BJP is sowing seeds of hatred and violence against minorities across the country. This is their agenda. They are trying to hijack democratic values ββby creating new laws and regulations,’ he said.
“We are fighting against the dictatorial regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah. In such a situation the CWC meeting becomes very important. Members of the working committee, standing invitees, special invitees, state congress committee presidents, legislative party leaders, parliamentary committee members, presidents of the party’s main units will meet,” he said.
A public rally will be held in Belagavi on December 27. More than one lakh party workers are expected to participate. All major Congress leaders will participate in the rally. AICC has directed all the members of the state Congress Committee to celebrate this moment on the same day and at the same time,β he said.
