iPhone 17 Pro rumored to retain triangular camera design

Apple is rumored to retain the triangular camera design for the iPhone 17 Pro, which is expected to launch in 2025.

According to Instant Digital, a leaker who recorded a mixed track for Apple rumors, the appearance of the back of the iPhone 17 Pro has changed but the camera layout is still triangular instead of the horizontal camera setup, which was making rounds on the internet.

However, the news contradicts other recent supply chain information from China that the module is long oval in shape.

Apple introduced the triangular camera setup in the iPhone 11 Pro and it continued until the iPhone 16. The reason for the design switch from a traditional vertical camera setup is to accommodate a third camera in the form of an ultra wide camera.

Information previously reported that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will get a rectangular camera bump made of aluminum instead of the traditional 3D glass.

Apart from the camera setup, the iPhone 17 Pro may have an aluminum frame. The back of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max may feature a half-aluminum and half-glass design. The bottom half will be made of glass to support wireless charging.
