The Congress on Monday (Dec 23, 2024) slammed the Modi government over the “rising” price of food items, saying that the bullet train it had announced has not come but inflation, which is rising at a faster pace. Bullet trains have broken the backs of common people.

Congress general secretary communication in-charge Jairam Ramesh said people do not want answers “Jumlabazi (Oratory)”.

He has claimed that the prices of daily necessities are increasing day by day and the prices of flour, oil, spices and dry fruits have increased by one and a half to two times in the last one year.

“The bullet train announced by the Modi government has not yet arrived, but inflation, which is increasing faster than the speed of the bullet train, has broken the common man’s back,” Mr. Ramesh said in his post in Hindi. X.

Inflation has doubled and tripled in ten and a half years, vegetables, flour, oil, spices and daily necessities are becoming beyond the reach of the common man, everything is becoming more expensive under the rule of the Modi government that has come to power. Chanting ‘Bahat hui mehangai ki maar’,’ he said.

“From potatoes to tomatoes, milk, spices and even cooking oil have now become a dream for the common man. Is this the promised ‘good day’? No more gimmicks! People want answers,” said Ramesh. .

The Congress has been hitting out at the government’s handling of the economy and expressing “growing” concerns over unemployment and inflation.
