In Pune, the first cold wave of the season will recede in the next few days Pune News

The current drop in temperatures in Pune will be the first cold wave the district has experienced this winter. In the last few days, temperatures in Pune have dipped into single digits and the city has recorded the lowest of the season. 7.8 degrees Celsius on December 16After that, the temperature has reached 8 to 8.5 degrees. In some parts of the district like NDA, the temperature has dropped to 6 degree Celsius.

Anupam Kashyapi, former head of weather forecasting division of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), said that the cold wave in isolated places of the district will subside in the next 5-7 days as the wind pattern changes. He said, ‘The current cold wave is mainly due to the entry of northerly winds in the state.

The lack of humidity also continues to increase the “feel” of the cold – the chill factor in the air. But due to increasing minimum temperature and changes in wind patterns, the cold wave is likely to reduce further for the next 5-7 days, Kashyapi said.

A cold wave with mercury in single digits has been reported at many places in most parts of North India.

The entry of water vapor air from the Bay of Bengal will block the entry of cold air from the north of the country. However, some places in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive rain.

Earlier this month, the IMD, in its monthly forecast, had said minimum temperatures would be above normal in many parts of the country.
