A Pakistani man was arrested in Lahore for allegedly killing his seven-year-old son and then trying to cover up the crime by kidnapping him, ARY News reported.
According to a police official, the man had initially buried his son secretly and lodged a missing person’s complaint, but later investigations revealed his involvement in the murder.
The authorities later discovered that the child’s remains were buried at his own residence in Baganpura, prompting the father to confess. The motive behind this action is yet to be revealed.
The tragic incident follows a recent crime in Sadiqabad, where a man threw acid on his wife during a domestic dispute, leaving her with severe burns, ARY News reported. The victim, 35-year-old Saira, has burnt 80 percent of her body.
After initial treatment at a local medical facility, he was transferred to a specialized burn unit in critical condition. Alleging that the victim and her father attacked several family members including her husband’s parents and brother-in-law, she claimed that both acid and petrol were used before burning her.
In a separate incident in Alipur tehsil of Pakistan’s Muzaffargarh district, economic deprivation led to a devastating family tragedy on April 12. Sajjad Khokhar killed his wife and seven children.
According to the police statement released on Thursday, the deceased are 40-year-old Kausar and her children: Ansa (8), Kanja (7), Ramsha (5), Shahnaz (4), Anas (3), Subhan (3). 2), and four-month-old Manja.
