Sam Konstas made his debut at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after scoring a 65-ball 60 in his first international match for the Australian cricket team.
After a shoulder barge from the Indian cricket team’s talisman as his spat with Virat Kohli grabbed all the headlines, Sam Constance played some daring shots against Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
He scored 18 runs in the 11th over of Australia’s innings, the costliest over of Jasprit Bumrah’s Test career.

Former Australian cricketer Justin Langer praised Sam Konstas but also revealed how Indians underestimated Sam Konstas.
“Sam Konstas has been given permission to attack Bumrah, but it’s not easy. It’s very difficult to do. Even in T20 cricket, I like Bumrah’s economy rate as well. So it’s not easy to do. But the kid was brave, talking a good game, And then he came in and put it into action. That’s what great players do. He came in and put it into action, and it was exciting to watch.
“He has played only 11 first-class matches, but I spoke to KL Rahul before the match. And I said, ‘Have you seen this kid Sam Konstas?’ And he says, ‘Oh, we only saw him in the Prime Minister’s XI game (50 overs). He was playing these ramp shots and all this kind of stuff.’ Rahul said, ‘But he won’t do that today.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, he won’t do that today.’ And immediately, Sam Konstas was doing that,” the anchor said on Star Sports.

Konstas revealed that Jasprit Bumrah has a plan in a conversation with Fox Sports.
Fox Cricket quoted Konstas as saying, “I won’t be watching (her) much.” “I have seen a lot of him. But I am excited to challenge myself and face him. Usually, our analysts give a little feedback to each bowler. I can read that, maybe,” he said.
‘I have (Bumrah’s plan). I’m not going to say what it is, but (I) will just try to put pressure on the bowler. They are all very good bowlers. Of course, they are the best in the world, but I am looking forward to the challenge, and hopefully I will experience this week,” he said.
