Hajj pilgrims are trained in what to do and what not to do

Hyderabad: The townspeople intending to go on the Hajj pilgrimage the following year received valuable lessons about religious practices at the holy places as well as travel and accommodation procedures and procedures. Many pilgrims are flying in an airplane for the first time.

“The training camp helped me understand how to wear ‘Ihram’ properly and why it is important. It was really helpful to learn about the correct way to dress for religious rituals and pilgrimage,” said Rasool Basha, who attended the event.

“This is my first time flying and today’s training session explained everything about the flight, visa requirements and travel formalities. It helped me understand what to expect and now I feel much more prepared for the trip,” said Nabila Ahmed. For which this aircraft will be the first flight.

They were speaking to Deccan Chronicle at the Telangana Haj Committee’s first training camp for Haj 2025 pilgrims. Chairman of the committee Syed Ghulam Afzal Biwani inaugurated the session here on Sunday.

Religious scholars gave lectures on Manasik-e-Hajj and Ziyarat-e-Madina Munawwarah. The officials of the Hajj Committee briefed the attendees about important logistical arrangements and travel preparations.

Haj Committee Chairman Biawani advised pilgrims to stay healthy and develop regular walking habits to avoid difficulties during Hajj. He mentioned that Chief Minister A Revant Reddy had sanctioned a special grant of Rs 10.5 crore for the Haj Pilgrim Camp.

“Today, we were given important advice on how to stay healthy and safe during the pilgrimage. From staying hydrated to dealing with the weather, the tips on how to take care of yourself during the journey were very helpful. It’s good to know that we are prepared for the challenges ahead. About four thousand people participated in the conference. So far Haj Committee has received 9 thousand 11 applications out of which 6 thousand 519 have been selected and 1 thousand 631 have been placed on the approved waiting list. The remaining 853 applications will be cleared by mid-January.

Tafseer Iqbal, Special Secretary for Minority Welfare, MD Fahimuddin, Vice President of Telangana Minority Residential Educational Institutions Society, members of Haj Committee and District Secretary participated in the programme.
