Bollywood actor Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja says she was ‘never around’ when she was growing up as she was always busy with work. Govinda was one of the most sought-after Hindi film stars in the 1990s, when Tina grew up. She said her mother was the primary caregiver at home, and added that she had a chance to bond with her father when she took over his job. Tina tried her luck in acting but His career didn’t quite take off. After a while, she took on a behind-the-scenes role with her father.
Talking to Bollywood Bubble, she said, “People don’t know this, but my father never came to my school. During school days, my father was never near. It was always my mother getting our lunch, going for them…she was hardly there. It was a way to get to know my father better. He was probably not there during his school days, he was in Hyderabad or Switzerland. So, I started to like working with my father. People started giving me more attention and importance. When asked what she does with her dad, Tina said, “I had a company, we were doing a lot of shows and events with him … being busy around him, head over heels.”

In an earlier interview, Tina’s mother Sunita Ahuja revealed this Govinda was not around when he was born. “When our daughter was born, he scheduled five shifts that day. My mother-in-law was there with me, and after every shift, she would check and ask if the baby was born. When he was on his third shift of the day, Tina was born. i Little did he know how big a star he was” she said on the Time Out with Ankit podcast, adding that for the first year they kept their marriage a secret.
Sunita added, ‘That was the custom at that time, who cares? But when Tina was born, of course everyone knew. Govinda and Sunita got married in 1987. They have two children daughter Tina and son Yashvardhan.
