Hyderabad: GHMC is all set to empower women as entrepreneurs with plans to set up 7,000 women-led enterprises across the city under the Indira Mahila Shakti Yojana.
In this initiative, 6,000 individual enterprises and 1,000 group enterprises have been set up with a budget of Rs 410 crore. Commissioner Ilambarithi has directed officials to identify eligible beneficiaries by January 20 and prioritize disbursement of loans under the scheme.
The commissioner also demanded to enroll deserving women in self-help groups and arrange financial assistance through bank links through the Comprehensive Micro Credit Scheme. The plan, which aims to mobilize Rs 1,500 crore in bank linkages by March 2025, will be finalized by the end of this month.
In addition, a micro credit scheme of Rs 500 crore will have to be prepared and submitted by the end of December. The loan grounding process for these funds is expected to be completed by January.
