During the additional thirty minutes it remained frustrating for either side involved in it for that long as none could make any steps towards scoring a goal which could decide this game or sending it into penalty shoot outs if they fail to do so. Players were visibly tired hence heading towards penalty kicks.

Both sides converted their first kicks of the tie before Portugal’s Joao Felix hit a post with his side’s third kick. On the other hand, France were perfect on penalty kicks and their victory was confirmed by Theo Hernandez who precisely guided his shot straight into the top corner.
End of an Era for Ronaldo
This defeat brings Cristiano Ronaldo’s Euro 2024 campaign to an end, which is believed to be his last European Championship. Having shown emotions after the final whistle blew down, Portuguese idol cannot have any other feeling but disappointed.
