Telangana Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha emphasized the need for optimal utilization of medical equipment and infrastructure in government hospitals as per Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS). In a review meeting held at the Rajiv Health Services Trust office in Hyderabad on Monday, the minister directed the heads of departments to give priority to equipment maintenance, infrastructure maintenance and staff recruitment.
The minister asked the senior health officer to submit a detailed report on hospital management, maintenance of medical equipment, recruitment of staff such as lab technicians to enhance the effectiveness of government health services.
Health Secretary Christina Z Chongthu, Health and Family Welfare Commissioner RV Karnan, Public Health and Family Welfare Director Ravindra Naik and Medical Education Director N Vani were present in the meeting.
