Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump has withdrawn her name from the US Senate

Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of US President-elect Donald Trump, has announced that she has withdrawn her name from being considered for a seat in the US Senate to replace outgoing Senator Marco Rubio.

This month, Lara resigned as co-chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) so she could enter the US Senate to replace Senator Rubio of Florida, who is set to resign when Donald Trump takes office in January. 20 President has nominated him for Secretary of State.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is set to choose Rubio’s replacement, according to a report Reuters. In an ex-post, Lara Trump said, “After an incredible amount of thought, deliberation and the encouragement of many, I have decided to withdraw my name from consideration for the United States Senate.”

Lara is married to Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump. Lara detailed in her X post that she has a “big announcement” to make in January but didn’t hold back on details.

“I couldn’t be more honored to serve as co-chair of the RNC in the most highly-elected of our lifetimes and I’m truly humbled by the incredible support shown to me by the people of our country, and here in the great state of Florida,” Lara added.

In March this year, Lara was elected to lead the Republican National Committee as co-chair and strengthened her father-in-law Donald Trump’s grip as he campaigned for the now-concluded US presidential election.
