Brother Sunil Raut’s allegation that a man carrying a motorcycle ransacked Sanjay Raut’s bungalow Mumbai News

MLA Sunil Raut, brother of Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, has accused two motorcycle riders of carrying out suspicious raking at Bhandup of Sanjay Raut’s bungalow, ‘Maitri’, on Friday morning. The police have started an investigation into the incident which happened around 9 am.

According to Sunil Raut, in the CCTV footage, two people on a two-wheeler were stopped outside the bungalow with several mobile phones. “It appears that they were recording the premises with phones before going out. Their behavior appeared suspicious,” he said. The footage has been handed over to the police, who are now scanning it to identify the persons.

Sunil Raut said that an eyewitness outside the bungalow first saw the biker and alerted him. “This is a serious matter. Sanjay ji has been criticizing the government and there is no police protection. The government should take this incident seriously,’ he said.

He expressed concern over the lack of security and compared the situation to the killing of Baba Siddiqui and warned that the government would be held accountable in case of any untoward incident.

Reacting to the incident, Sanjay Raut has claimed that not only his house in Bhandup but also Saman’s office and house in Delhi are under surveillance. “There is no law and order in Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray has spoken to the police. The matter is being investigated,” he said.

The team of Kanjurmarg police station has started investigation. “The CCTV footage showed two suspects in a two-wheeler. It is suspected that they were operating a racket and efforts are on to gather details about them and their vehicle,” a police official said.

No case has been registered so far, but the police have assured that action will be taken if anything serious comes out of the investigation.

Sanjay Raut has been critical of the BJP-led government both at the Center and in Maharashtra.
