Assembly ready for discussion on Waqf Board issue: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Belagavi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that the state government is ready to discuss the Waqf Board and answer the questions of the opposition in the legislature.

He said this while talking to reporters at Circuit House on Monday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded to the recent claims of former state minority commission chairman and BJP leader Anwar Manippadi, denying his earlier allegations that BY Vijayendra had offered him Rs 150 crore to remain silent on the Waqf Board property encroachment.

“We have responded to his earlier claims where he himself admitted receiving the offers. I think our response to his press conference was appropriate. Now after all these years he claims he didn’t say it. You tell me, what should we do?” He asked the media.

Responding to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi’s demand that the Chief Minister should apologize for the problems caused during Panchamasali community agitation, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hit out at the BJP, “Those who failed to solve this problem in the past should solve this problem. Be apologists.”
