Tamil Nadu Law Minister S. Regupathi said the DMK had no connection with Gnanasekaran, a 37-year-old man who was arrested on Thursday (December 26, 2024) for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl student on the Anna University campus.
Refuting media reports in this regard, he claimed that Gnanasekaran was not a member of the DMK.
βThere is no need for the Chief Minister (MK Stalin) or the DMK to hide this issue. We are dealing with it in a transparent manner,β Mr. Regupathi said while talking to reporters at Anna Arivalayam.
Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin and Health Minister. Subramaniam, which was aired online, Mr. Regupathi said taking such photographs was a “common practice” and no one could stop people from taking photographs with political leaders.
He said that Gnanasekaran was immediately arrested and the investigation was carried forward at a fast pace. The opposition is politicizing the issue and trying to block the increased participation of women in higher education under the Dravidian model government, he added.
