An Air India flight bound for Bahrain has returned to Kochi airport after a tire problem

Bahrain-bound Air India Express flight IX 471 landed safely at the Kochi International Airport in Kerala after a flat tire was found on the runway after take-off on Tuesday (Dec 17, 2024).

Sources said that the flight took off from the airport at 10:45 am and returned safely at 12:35 pm. According to airport sources, the related airlines are taking further action.

The plane was carrying 112 people including eight crew members. A technical problem was discovered shortly after the plane took off.

The flight crew was asked to return to Kochi to ensure the safety of the passengers. The airport administration had taken necessary precautions to ensure the safe landing of the aircraft.

Technical experts were investigating the problem in flight.
