A woman has died in Waljah municipality due to dengue

A 19-year-old pharmacist died of dengue in Walajah town near Ranipet, prompting the district administration on Thursday to intensify preventive measures, including fogging, clearing frozen water in abandoned places in the affected areas.

Health officials said that the victim S. Priya, 19, K. Selva was the daughter of S. Ganga, a laborer. After completing her nursing course, Priya was running a pharmacy in front of her house in KK Nagar.

In the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Priya had a high fever a week ago. He was then admitted to the Government Taluk Hospital in Walaja where he was treated. After developing fever, he was taken to a private hospital in Vellore city where he later died.

We have been raising awareness among parents that children affected by dengue should be admitted to hospital immediately. Special health camps have been organized in the affected areas as a preventive measure,” said K Senthil Kumar, deputy director of Health Services (DDHS), Ranipet. Hindu.

Health officials said that on an average, 10-15 dengue patients come to Ranipet district every month. The woman died a week after 13-year-old K Hari of Waljah city died of dengue.
