Haveri, Karnataka:
A 32-year-old man from Rajasthan was arrested here on Wednesday and handed over to the Maharashtra police on charges of threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan, officials said.
The accused, named Bhikha Ram, is a resident of Jalore, Rajasthan.
“Based on information received from the Maharashtra ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad), a person was arrested in Haveri town and handed over to them today,” Superintendent of Police, Haveri, Anshu Kumar told PTI.
According to police sources, the accused was living in various places in Karnataka before moving to Haveri a month and a half ago.
He was working at a construction site and was living in a rented room in Gaudar Oni.
A police source said, “The accused was watching a regional news channel when he suddenly called the Mumbai police control room and threatened to kill Salman Khan. He is a daily wage laborer and claims to be a fan of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. His version is, but his Detailed inquiry and further investigation will be done by Mumbai Police Our team only secured him and handed him over to Mumbai Police.
