A case has been filed against a teacher of Nav Bharat Children’s Academy in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh for beating up a class 6 student while going to school wearing a cap. The incident took place on December 20, with a First Information Report (FIR) registered on December 25 at the Chitbaragaon police station.
According to the police, the accused teacher Jitendra Rai abused 11-year-old Shlok Gupta and beat him up for wearing a hat. The next day, Shlok’s father, Anil Kumar Gupta, raised the matter with the school principal, and the situation escalated. It is alleged that Rai beat the student again and hit his head against the wall to cause more pain.
Anil Kumar Gupta, a resident of Jayaprakash Nagar village, lodged a complaint against Rai which led to the registration of an FIR. Chitbaragaon police station in-charge Prashant Kumar Chaudhary has confirmed the incident. “On the basis of Anil Kumar Gupta’s complaint, a complaint has been filed against Jitendra Rai,” Chaudhary said.
Allegations of frequent physical assaults and verbal abuse have raised concerns about student safety and discipline practices in schools. The police have started investigating the incident, further action will be taken based on the findings.
The incident underscores the need for stricter regulations to ensure a safe and respectful environment for students in educational institutions. Authorities have yet to determine any immediate consequences for the teacher or school management regarding the reported incident.
