Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu gave strict orders to officials not to tamper with humidity readings registered at Rithu Seva Kendras. He warned that strict action will be taken against such officials. The percentage of moisture in the service center and the rice mill should be the same, he said.
Naidu, along with ministers Nadendala Manohar and Kollu Ravindra, visited Rithu Seva Kendra at Ganguru in Krishna district on Friday.
Officials showed the Chief Minister how to procure paddy at the service center. A farmer at the service center told the Chief Minister that this year’s production was much better than last year. He said that the process of cutting the crops with machines has saved Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 per acre.
The farmers told the Chief Minister that they will get an additional Rs 5,000 if the leftover crops are used by the biofuel plant after harvesting. After starting harvesting by hand, the farmer has to spend Rs 6,000 for cutting and harvesting seeds. In addition to this, they have to spend Rs 3,000 for weighing, and if they cut by hand, the farmer has to spend a total of Rs 25,000.
Farmers have expressed their satisfaction with the purchase of paddy at the service center. Harvesting machines have been brought from outside the state. Officials informed the Chief Minister that the procurement process will be given to the contractor as a single entity or as a part schedule.
The CM asked the officials to inquire about the farming methods, if any farmer informs them about the high yield. He urged the officials to register the productivity of rice by village using technology.
