Parbhani violence: Devendra Fadnavis announced a judicial inquiry into the incident

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday (December 20, 2024) announced a judicial inquiry into Parbhani violence over the desecration of a replica of the Constitution in the hands of Ambedkar’s statue.

On December 11, violence erupted in Parbhani town after a man vandalized a statue of Dr BR Ambedkar, part of a replica of the Constitution. The incident has spread panic among Dalits.

The Chief Minister has also announced to pay Rs 10/10 lakh to the relatives of Somnath Suryavanshi, who was arrested in Parbhani case and killed the sarpanch of Beed.

The Superintendent of Police of Beed will be transferred and a judicial inquiry will be conducted into the murder of the Sarpanch of Beed Rural Municipality.
