A large contingent of Mumbai police was deployed outside the Congress office and police used lathis to disperse the crowd and detained some of the protesters.
Criticizing the BJP on this matter, the Congress has demanded strict action against the workers who vandalized the Congress office.
“BJP and Sangh Parivar have always heard the name of Babasaheb – attack and vandalism. See BJP goons bent only to save Amit Shah and divert attention from his atrocious statements against the great man, Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar,” Mumbai Congress chief and MP Varsha Gaikwad told Central Quoting Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks about Ambedkar.
“Around 50 BJP workers came to our Mumbai office, threw chairs and tore posters, vandalized property. Our brave workers resisted their attack. We will take legal action against this,’ she said
Urging Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take immediate stern action, he added: “Is such political decorum in a progressive state like Maharashtra? Shame!”

“Police are always present at Azad Maidan. Were they not aware of this movement and attack? If no action is taken, the police should also be taken action,’ he said.
But the leaders of the ruling Mahayuti have said that the opposition is doing politics in the name of Ambedkar.
