REET 2025: RBSE introduces fifth option and negative marking under new OMR rules

REET 2025: Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has introduced significant changes Rajasthan Eligibility Test for Teachers (REET). As per the latest update, the REET question paper will now have five options instead of four, and negative marking will be implemented. The registration process for REET 2024-25 examination has already started. The application window opened on December 16, 2024, and candidates can apply until January 15, 2025. In addition, RBSE The REET 2025 exam has been scheduled for February 27, 2025, with admit cards available from February 19, 2025.

REET 2025: Introduction of Fifth Option and Negative Marking

As per the new OMR guidelines announced by RBSE, the question paper will now contain five answer options instead of four. Also, negative marking scheme has been introduced. Candidates will lose marks for wrong answers or if they fail to select an answer from the five options provided.
The board announced the changes on its official X (formally Twitter account). He tweeted, ‘New OMR rules have been implemented. In this case there will be 5 options instead of 4 in the question paper. If no question is answered and the fifth option is not filled, negative marking of ⅓ marks will be done’ (rough translation).

REET 2025: Application Fee

According to the information, the candidates have to pay Rs. 550 for a paper. If a candidate registers for both the levels, they have to pay Rs. 750.

REET is a state-level teacher eligibility test conducted annually to assess the eligibility of candidates for teaching primary and upper primary classes in government schools in Rajasthan. It has two levels: Level 1 is for those who want to teach classes 1 to 5, while level 2 is for those who want to teach classes 6 to 8. Candidates who want to teach both primary and upper primary classes should appear for both levels.
It is reported that a total of 29 thousand 308 applications have been received till Wednesday evening. Among them, 1,035 people have applied to take the exam at both levels.
