Students of Srinidhi, Islamia College protested over fee dispute

Hyderabad: Protests erupted at Srinidhi College in Ghatkesar and Islamia Engineering College in Bandlaguda, with students and parents alleging that students were pressured to pay full fees due to delayed government reimbursements.

Students of Srinidhi College protested in the campus at 10 am demanding justice. They have requested the administration to address their grievances. A notice circulated on social media before calling on students to gather at the campus quad on December 18 at 10 am to discuss the reimbursement issue with the authorities concerned. The message mentions the need for a collective initiative. “No voice is small when we stand together,” it read.

The students have also alleged that the hall tickets for the upcoming examination have been withheld until the dues are paid. According to them, the college administration had kept the names and roll numbers of the students whose tuition fees were outstanding. The message directed students to pay at least one-third of the fees on the next day to prevent them from writing the midterm exams.

The protestors called the action unfair and said that the financial burden should not fall on them due to the delay in government relief. They have demanded the immediate intervention of the relevant authorities to solve the problem.
