The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted searches at several places in four states in connection with the inter-state arms smuggling case.

The premises of 15 accused/suspects were searched at 17 locations including 12 in Bihar, three in Nagaland, one in Haryana and one in Jammu and Kashmir. 11 suspects searched in whose premises were linked to those arrested earlier and four accused were charged in the case.

“In today’s search, one .315 rifle, 11 rounds, three empty cartridges, digital devices including mobile phones, memory cards, pen drives, suspected raw materials and tools/tools used in manufacturing have been recovered. of firearms,” ​​the agency said.

Apart from the documents, a car and more than Rs.13.94 lakh have been seized.

The case relates to the seizure of an AK-47 rifle and other prohibited weapons being smuggled from Nagaland and other North-Eastern states. “Bihar was being used as a transit for further smuggling to other states, and also as a destination for contraband arms,” ​​it said.

The accused was involved in arms smuggling for the past few years.
