The state government has set up two committees – the steering committee and the executive committee – to plan and conduct at least five grand celebrations in the coming years, including the completion of 75 years of the Constitution next year, the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the 100th birth anniversary. Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary among others, officials said.

Officials informed that the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday has decided to appoint Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel as the chairman of the steering committee, while the executive committee will be chaired by Chief Secretary Rajkumar.

The committees will also oversee the celebration of ‘Janjati Gaurav Varsh’ in 2025, the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, which is revered by tribals across the country.

The panels will also organize a program to mark the 50th anniversary of the imposition of Emergency in India.
